Pre production log: script

Script from 18001927 My script is split up into 3 acts and how’s whats the chat haters lines are going to be and where they have to move to within the location provided. The script also includes a few camera shots I wish to include in the movie. I made the script so that the actors aren't improvising lines on the day and it give a sense of how the story progresses and what it is meant to look like because it includes locations and what the actors are meant to be doing in the scene.

Pre production log: Proposal

Proposal from 18001927 My proposal shows the target audience I want to make my short film for and what genre I would like my movie to be. This also gives a basic outline of the plot of the movie and what the char haters are like. the point in having a proposal is to show the investors the outline of the movie and what you hope to achieve by making this movie. my movie is aimed 15 and over which singles out a lot of people because anyone under that age isn't able to view It.

Friday the 13th part 2 from 18001927

Practice misc-en-scene analysis: psycho (1960)

Setting starts of at the bates motel where we see a woman looking at the house on the top of the hill where Norman and Norma bates live. Suspenseful music plays in the background because there is no dialogue. We finally see Norman walking towards Marian with supper which she did not want but will eat anyways because it gives the characters to find out more about each other. We get to see their costumes which are typical for 1960 when this movie was released. Outside there is low ambient lighting which means the scene is quiet dark. They both entre the parlor room where we see the decor and the stuffed birds around the room. In the room everything is old fashion and there is candles all around the room and a lamp providing the light for the scene. When Norman is talking to Marian we get the tagline of the film from Norman ‘a boy’s best friend is his mother’ Marian seems suspicious of Norman because of the hobby of stuffing animals and because of the way he defends his mother even t...

scream movie review

Scream movie review I will be reviewing the seminal horror film scream released in 1996 by Freddy Kruger creator Wes Craven who also directed the three scream sequels before passing away in 2015. It’s hard to overstate the impact scream had on the horror genre. It reignited slasher flicks, spawning a whole host of late 90’s imitators and set the tone for the genre for the best part of the decade. After scream, horror would take on a certain feel- it’d be funny, hip and most importantly, self-aware. Scream told the audience that the characters they were watching were just like them- they knew about Jason, Freddy and chucky, they knew the so called rules of the genre. Then scream told them, that knowledge wouldn’t save these characters- they were going to die anyways.  The movie begins with a phone ringing and we are introduced to Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) when she answers she is greeted with a voice of an inquisitive stranger. Thinking it’s a Wrong number, she hangs up ...
